What is Bleaching?
Tooth whitening is actually a bleaching process that lightens discolorations of the enamel and dentin.

How is bleaching done?
Bleaching can be done under the following techniques:

1. Chair –Side [In – Office] - Instant Tooth whitening
• Zoom Technique – 20 min to 60 min
• BriteSmile – 20 min to 60 min

Time & Procedure
• 1-2 days
• Oral Examination, Scaling and Polishing
• Bleaching.
• Post- Bleaching Follow-up

During chair side bleaching, a protective gel is applied to your gums or and the oral soft tissues are completely covered. A bleaching agent is then applied to the teeth, and a special bleaching arc light is used to enhance the action of the agent.

2. At - Home
This technique utilizes a custom formed plastic tray that fits comfortably over the wearer's teeth. Bleaching gel is placed into this tray and the tray is then worn for multiple hours a day (or else overnight), for some weeks, as the effects of the whitening process take place.

It is important for anyone choosing to utilize this type of system to realize that essentially all of their whitening treatments will be performed on their own, with absolutely no direct supervision by a dental professional.

Time & Procedure
• 1-2 days to deliver the trays
• Oral Examination, Scaling and polishing prior to bleaching.
• Post- Bleaching Follow-up after 1 week.
• Total Time for supervised bleach is 7-8 days.

Case selection is important for either of the techniques.
It may be taken & telephonic / e-mail follow up done.
